From toys to smartphones and even mail-order reptiles (a practice which we don’t endorse), unboxing videos are an effective and entertaining way to learn more about a product. According to a recent analysis by Shorr Packaging Corp., toys are the most watched unboxing category, followed closely by smartphones and computers.
In addition to providing important product details, an unboxing video gives you an idea of what to expect when your product arrives. An effective unboxing video will also provide set-up instructions to help you get the most out of your new acquisition.
A great example of this is Adesto’s unboxing video of the EcoXiP evaluation kit (EVK).
The EVK is designed to demonstrate the low-power, high-bandwidth performance of the EcoXiP non-volatile memory. It’s built with the NXP i.MX RT1050 and the Octal Flash EcoXiP ATXP032 xSPI serial flash memory.
The video explains what’s included with the EVK and provides a step-by-step guide of how to get started with an evaluation project.

The unboxing video will explain how to complete the hardware set-up of your evaluation kit.
And when you’re finished watching that, with the holidays right around the corner, you may enjoy this unboxing video of a train set.
